Albino Spring Skunk Music Festival
The Skunk Farm, Greenville, South Carolina
The Skunk Farm is a unique music and camping venue in Upstate South Carolina in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
They host two yearly music festivals. Spring Skunk Music Fest takes place the second weekend of April, and the Albino Skunk Music Festival takes place the first weekend in October. Both are often called “SkunkFest” by the attendees and artists.
Originally founded as a bluegrass music festival, SkunkFest now features all sorts of mostly acoustic music – including Americana, Folk, Singer-Songwriter, Alt. Country, Acoustic, Roots and Bluegrass. They’re proud of our eclectic mix of music – check out this year’s line-up.
The Note Ropes band is a staple at the Albino Skunk Festival, a gig which led them to being tapped for the prestigious MerleFest in Wilkesboro, NC
Held at The Skunk Farm, Spartanburg County Line, this big music festival was first held in 95 so this year it celebrated its 23rd anniversary. The property is located 7, 17 and 21 miles from the downtowns of Greer, Greenville, and Spartanburg respectively.
The main stage, where acts perform their craft, is nestled in the woods in a valley, creating a natural amphitheater. At the top of the amphitheater there are food vendors in addition to some local beverage companies stands, The Community Tap and Six & Twenty, and 15-20 craft vendor booths.
Guests bring their own chairs, or even couches, and leave them in their claimed spots for the entire three day festival. It’s a rather short walk from the campsite area to the stage. This very unique property topography creates great acoustic and music can be heard all over the farm.
What stands out is the very laid back atmosphere. It is a family-friendly, children friendly festival and this makes the Albino Skunk a very unique festival. It offers a variety of activities for adults and kids alike and is a pet friendly festival. There are stages for kids and they perform songs and enjoy the very unique vibe.
People can bring their pets, dogs and horses are welcome, and people have been having a great time since the very early years. But when people are asked why they come back to the festival, the answers are always the same: MUSIC!
It all started as a little private party and it got to where organizers made efforts to bring in some bigger name bands to play. Once bigger names were introduced, organizers started, they implemented wristband as tickets and making improvements every year.since 1995.
