Dr Hunt Jr. was the first orthodontist in South Carolina to utilize the Acceledent technology for his patients in March of 2012 based on his experience with the Wilckodontics Acclerated orthodontic treatments. Since then Dr. Hunt, Jr has gained extensive experience with Acceledent® treating many different types of malocclusions with “pearls” learned form this experience. We also have many before and after photos that we would be excited to show you.
How does AcceleDent work?
AcceleDent is a light, comfortable, and hands-free appliance that is used 20 minutes per day as a complement to braces to accelerate tooth movement. The patented technology gently vibrates the teeth and surrounding bone, allowing teeth to move more freely. The best part of the AcceleDent System is that it’s completely safe! You may experience a slight tingling sensation, much like that of the vibration of an electric toothbrush, but it should diminish after you become accustomed to using the appliance.

How Does AcceleDent® Optima™ Work?
By inserting the mouthpiece fitted around your braces or aligners for just 20 minutes a day, AcceleDent Optima speeds tooth movement through the use of SoftPulse Technology®. AcceleDent Optima’s patented SoftPulse Technology applies precisely calibrated vibrations called micropulses that transmit through the roots of your teeth to the surrounding bone.
